THE FRIENDSHIP between singer Ella Fitzgerald and actress Marilyn Monroe, is the subject of a new British play, "Ella, Meet Marilyn." Bonnie Greer's musical drama tells how Monroe helped Ella break the color barrier in the 1950s. ("Book her here and I'll be ringside every night" she told the owner of NYC's Mocambo nightclub. They did and she was.) Rain Pryor, daughter of Richard Pryor, plays Ella. English TV star Sally Lindsay enacts MM. Years after Marilyn's death, Ella said, "She was an unusual woman, a little ahead of her time, and she didn't know it."
